Forbidden Kingdom Behind The Scenes Featurette

Although they are said to downplay their roles in the Forbidden Kingdom Jackie Chan and Jet Li did enjoy working together on this movie.
Indeed a behind-the-scenes featurette has been released and both Jackie Chan and Jet Li look like they enjoyed the filming.

Here below the Behind the scenes clip of the Forbidden Kingdom :

Kung Fu Superstars
Jackie Chan and Jet Li work with Yuen Woo Ping to create incredible fight sequences.

I heard that Jackie Chan and Jet Li are planning to work together again. But this time on a real kung fu movie: it promises great pictures!

Forbidden Kingdom Extended Preview

An extended preview clip of the Forbidden Kingdom has been released. It features a scene where Michael Angarano is learning the basics of Kung Fu from both kung fu Masters Jet Li and Jackie Chan at the same time.

Here below the extended preview of the Forbiddden Kingdom:

I prefer Jackie Chan to Jet Li: he looks much more friendly than Jet Li.

I hope we'll have some more preview clips before the official release of The Forbidden Kingdom (not too many though, I fear they spoil the movie...).

Forbidden Kingdom Extended Trailer

An extended trailer had shown up for The Forbidden Kingdom. And I'm damned fond of The Forbidden Kingdom now! Indeed, there is everything I may look for in a kung fu movie: martial art, an initiation (Angarano has a lot to learn), magic, great kung fu actors (namely Jackie Chan and Jet Li), a nice girl (Liu Yefei) and a real and interesting plot.

Here below the extended trailer of The Forbidden Kingdom:

So impatient to see this kung fu / adventure movie now!

Forbidden Kingdom Trailer 2

The second trailer of Forbidden Kingdom, upcoming movie starring both Jet Li and Jackie Chan, has been released.

Here it is:

Kung Fu fighters will may have a good time watching the two stars. But keep in mind that this movie targets a North American public.
To my viewpoint it`s better like this: there will be a better plot even if less action.

Forbidden Kingdom Soundtrack

Here below some soundtracks from the Forbidden Kingdom, to listen, click here or on the playlist below:

Click on the playlist to start the music!

The music was done by composer David Buckley for the Forbidden Kingdom:

David Buckley"In the end, we decided that the overall tone of the score should not be overtly Chinese. Rather, it should be something that would be accessible for western audiences and acceptable to eastern audiences." (David Buckley)

David Buckley was interviewed by Tracksounds .

Update: we received an email from David Buckley concerning the release of the soundtrack of the Forbidden Kingdom, here what he says:

"[...] The Forbidden Kingdom Album will be released close to the July 11 UK release of the film. This will be a digital release, but there is a deal with Amazon that will provide a physical CD (although I do not have all the details on this yet).

There will be 20 tracks on the album with over an hours worth of music.

I am thrilled with the product and am so happy it is now going to be released. [...]"
David Buckley

So July 11 is a date to put in our agenda!

Forbidden Kingdom Official Trailer

Here the trailer of The Forbidden Kingdom, the highly anticipated movie starring both Jackie Chan and Jet Li:

Plot:
"A discovery made by a kung fu obsessed American teen sends him on an adventure to China, where he joins up with a band of martial arts warriors in order to free the imprisoned Monkey King." (Source: IMDb)

In recent interviews Jackie Chan and Jet Li tried to minimize the impact of this movie saying it was first targeting the American public. But to my viewpoint it's going to be a really good Kung Fu movie!

Forbidden Kingdom Jet Li Monkey King

Jet Li is interpreting two roles in the upcoming movie the Forbidden Kingdom. Not only he is interpreting the role of the Silent Monk, but he also interpreting the role of the Monkey King himself!
(Click on a picture to enlarge it.)

As you may know the Forbidden Kingdom is a liberal cinema adaptation of a traditional Chinese story called "Journey to the West" (read it here. Here below a more traditional representation of the Monkey King (known as Sun Wukong in China):

The Monkey King (aka Sun Wukong in Chinese) at the Beijing opera - Journey to the West

Well, Jet Li is interpreting a more up-to-date version of the Monkey King which is more likely to suit foreigners' taste. Here below some more pictures of Jet Li as the Monkey King:

It's not often that we may see Jet Li looking so funny in a movie. I hope you'll enjoy the film in your nearest theater, it's worth the price of a ticket!
